12 Feb 09Same old, same oldThis week we did exactly the same as we did last week, minus the talking to the town planner bit. We had glorious sunshine, we pinned down the remaining roof beams (all 7 of them), Dave did most of the work and I goffered. Below is a little before and after test - see if you can spot the difference between these two pics. I'll give you a clue, it has nothing to do with the shadows or that Dave is in the first pic and not the second. Before - After - Wakey, wakeySo as not to get too bored we did throw in a little incident which woke us both up with a start. We dropped one of the beams off the roof trying to get it into position. Don't worry it (or we) aren't broken. We're all made of tougher stuff than that. It did give us a scare though. And then, of course, we had the job of trying to hoist it back up again - them there beams are a lot heavier than they look ya know. Beams and blossomThe almond blossom is out this month. As much as I try not to like February because it's the coldest month of the year, I just can't help loving it for the blossom. And on a sunny day it takes your breath away.
