The fallen tree

Just thought you might like to see the beautiful false pepper tree before we chopped it up for firewood. We've kept the main trunk as we're sure it will make a good beam or post oneday. A 40km wind brought this down, and we're due another blast this weekend according to weather reports - eeeek!

Last of the padobe

8 hours and 9 loads of padobe and we're done with it! It's a good solid material to work with and we're happy to have tried it, but it is a slow, labour intensive job. So this is the last section we're going to do with it. The rest of the roof will be covered in cork filled sacks then papercreted over.
