Wattle and daubAfter all our mud pie making last week I was dying to see the dried result this week. And what a result! The scratch coat is as solid as a rock and, even though the finish coat is a bit cracked, it has a lovely feel to it and is also solid. I think the cracking is because it dried out too quickly in the sun and, as it was a test and we didn't have the time for the scratch coat to dry, we'd put it on top of a wet layer. I only know this because that's what happens to an oil painting if you apply a thin layer of paint onto a thick not fully dried layer. Central columnsI forgot to take a piccie of these last week, so here they are now - nice and central and ready for the bond beam to be put on.
